Aviation Daily Reports "Early Victories"

Director John Kern told Aviation Daily that the JPDO has some early victories, including the creation of a national weather research plan through the research efforts of the FAA, NASA and NOAA. JPDO has also identified DoD programs that can be used in civil air traffic control systems, such as network-centric systems and advanced communications technology.

He also reported that former Defense Deputy Secretary John Hamre will lead an overhauled research, engineering and development advisory committee. The panel will provide industry input to JPDO.
